Dear Judy,
I work in a pretty big office. One of my colleagues has a kid with leukemia. I know a lot of childhood leukemia is curable, but so far this child isn’t doing well.
A lot of us have been really understanding. And I mean really. We’ve taken up some of the work load when he’s been away tending to his son; and sometimes I don’t even tell him what I’ve done for him, because I feel that bad.
The problem is, this guy doesn’t seem to appreciate any of what we’re doing. When he’s in the office he snaps and barks. Twice he shouted, once at me. Okay, I know he’s hurting and he’s in a terrible place and all that. But shouldn’t there be a limit to our understanding and consideration?
