• Dear Judy,

For many years it’s been obvious that as soon as our third (and last) daughter leaves for college, my wife and I will end a pretty dreary marriage. I’m not the only one feeling this way. My wife felt the same. I even hired a lawyer.

My wife was just about to do the same, when she felt a lump on her left breast. The mammogram revealed another lumpĀ on her right; a week later the biopsy for both came back positive.

I am not a bastard, Judy. But I bet even our daughters knew deep down that our marriage was on the rocks, so how much of a shock could a divorce be? Also, I don’t want to spend the rest of my life caring for a woman for whom I no longer care. Any thoughts?

    Lou

    Dear Lou,

Yes I have. Just one thought. Imagine if the situation was reversed.

    Thank you for writing,

    Judy
