• Dear Judy,

A cousin of mine died unexpectedly. She was married to a user/loser and by the time she died, their marriage was kaput. We all think she should be buried by her parents in Alabama, where she grew up. The oaf wants to bury her in Texas, where he lives. Should we interfere?

    Alabama Cousin

       Dear Cousin

That really depends. Did your cousin leave any written instructions about where she wanted to be buried? Or talk to you before her death? Do you happen to have a burial site available for just such an occasion?  Do you know how much burial sites cost and do you have the funds to defray that cost?

Unless the answer to all these questions is, “Yes!” I’d say, let the Oaf bury her. It’ll give him something to do. And at least she doesn’t have to listen to him any more.
