Dear Judy,
My ex-husband died a week ago of a massive coronary. I am frankly not shedding tears, but my 13-year-old son is. And I don’t know what to do.
To put it in its starkest terms: My former husband died in a hotel room with 2 prostitutes and some cocaine. I got all this from the police (I live next door to a very talkative guy on the force), and I wasn’t surprised. My ex loved hookers. His current wife may or may not know.
My son does not know. I am really afraid he’ll learn about it through school gossip, or some gossip. He is very sensitive.
What should I tell him about his father’s death?
Louise
